Outside the window of my office is the nest of a pair of red-shouldered hawks. Now, I love raptors, so this is of special importance to me. However, these two yell at each other like nobody's business. Particularly in the last week or so, when they have been urging their young out of the next. I had that same feeling today, as two of our recent projects officially launched.

Our launches are the epitome of soft-launches. No fanfare, no streamers, no music. They just quietly come online in the middle of the night. Then we jump on them and make sure everything works. And that's what we've done for our recent launches for Scott Spann, MD and Global Academic Consultants.

That being said, sometimes our clients want the fanfare. As soon as we whisper, "Okay, the site is up," they have blog posts and Facebook status announcing the same. Often, it's not a major issue.

Unless you're Nastia Liukin.

Nastia Liukin, in case you live under a rock, is a gold-medal winning Olympic gymnast and all around amazing athlete who is quickly rising to be a household name, along with Bruce Jenner, Greg Louganis and Mary Lou Retton (can you tell I was a child in the 80s?). Not only that, but she's incredibly nice.

When we launched her new site, we let her know it was live and that we had to fix a few things. She then promptly announced it on her Facebook page and the site nearly crashed under the traffic. We knew she'd have traffic unlike any other client -- she has over 70,000 friends on her Facebook page -- but I didn't realize they would all be online and go to her site within the first hour it was up.

Thankfully, the site held up and we managed to fix what needed to be fixed and the response from her adoring fan base was, well, adoring.

And yeah, we're a little star struck. But who wouldn't be?
